If you will choose, which do you prefer working from home or going to an office? Have you thought of Freelancing? Freelancing is not a new trend anymore. There are different pros and cons of Freelancing. I will share some of the major benefits that you or anyone will get when working from home or freelancing. Many companies are now let their employees work from home or prefer hiring a freelance who don’t need office and love working from home. While it takes dedication and can be a major lifestyle adjustment, there are a ton of perks associated with being a freelancer, the flexibility is a big one. Like anything, freelancing has its downsides too (like paying for your own health insurance), so be sure to weigh everything carefully before diving in.
Here some reasons why give a Freelancing a Try:
1. Technology has made it easy.
Technology has made it super feasible for freelancers to work remotely, anywhere from a local cafe to a beach. You no longer need a home office or fancy setup — just wifi. Depending on your profession, most work can be done easily on mobile devices. If you like a structure, you may set up a small space in your home as your working space.
2. It’s a growing industry, and the work is there.
Demand is up, and the number of freelancers is on the rise. A study conducted by Intuit predicts that by 2020, “independent workers” will comprise 40% of the total workforce, including freelancers, contractors , and temps. While many jobs work well freelance, there are some that are more popular than others. According to Upwork (a popular freelancing site you should check out), some of the fastest growing freelance skills are bitcoin, Amazon DynamoDB, media buying, and video editing. These are just a few skills in a world full of possibilities. It isn’t too late to join in!
3. You get to be your own boss.
Do you love yourself? Good. Think of yourself as a business of one. Gone are the days when you have to report into someone else, or worse, work for someone you don’t like. You are in charge of your time, your clients, and your schedule. All of it. While this may come as a challenge for some, it’s actually quite wonderful. You get to decide which clients you’ll accept into your virtual space and when you’re on and off the clock.
4. You have more time with your family.
Many working parents know the struggle of balancing family and work. Spending quality time with your family can feel difficult to fit into an already busy day. If your flexible job is working from home, you will save time. Your kids won’t have to wait for you to get home from work when they are done with school. Freelancing gives you the opportunities to have more time with your family. The kids feel more secure, safe and happy as their mother is always with them. You can cherish the precious moments with your children.
Freelancing can be a promising job but it really requires hard work. You need to be disciplined, productive, patient and efficient in whatever you do. Always give your best. Put your heart and mind into it and everything will follow.
